I'm not here to teach, I'm here to learn. This blog has been created to keep a record of my sound and moving image learning process, what i get out of what I am currently being taught and how it applies to my interests.

Sound Waves
This is a diagram of how i best understand electronic sounds create currents of high and low pressure air that our ears pick up. The high and low pressures are produced by physically pushing the air with a cone shape that is attached to a copper coil and is vibrated backwards and forwards by an electromagnet being turned on and off within the speaker . Our ears pick up sound in a similar way, the sound waves enter the ear and vibrate the ear drum, this in turn moves a set of three small bones in the inner ear, eventually is stimulates small hairs that are all in tune with certain wavelengths of vibration and is sent down nerves to the brain to be processed.
